VIJAYAWADA: Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council C Ramachandraiah came down heavily on chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for being ruthless towards farmers by adopting a ‘flawed’ land pooling policy to construct the capital city.
At a press meet here Tuesday, Ramachandraiah alleged that Babu was acting on whims and fancies with regard to capital construction and was going ahead with iron fist to grab lands from farmers in Tulluru mandal.
“Why does Chandrababu Naidu need 30,000 acres of land for capital? First, he said that he requires one lakh acres and now he said only 30,000 acres. He appears to be clueless,” he alleged.
“By colluding with corporate bigwigs for his personal gains the CM is stealing the livelihood of thousands of farmers. Babu’s government became a corporate-controlled government and is in no position to listen to the people’s aspirations. Moreover, where will he get all the money required to build a Singapore-like capital,” the former minister questioned and demanded that the government should develop a smart city in every district of the state.
