Vijayawada police commissioner A B Venkateswara Rao has said in a press release that the radiation from cell-phone towers in the city limits is much lower than the limits prescribed by the Central government.
Following a few complaints about possible radiation hazard from the cell-phone towers, Rao had asked P V Puranki, Deputy Director General, state ministry of telecommunications, to examine the radiation levels.
The DDG reported back to the commissioner that the radiation levels were very low, the release said.
