Betting big on the events industry, Hyderabad-based startup YourEvent.co on Tuesday said it is planning to scale up its business in the city and foray into to other cities like Vijayawada, Bangalore and Mumbai by the end of 2015.
According to Harsha Bavirisetty, co-founder and chief executive officer of YourEvent.co, the company targets settlers or NRIs in Hyderabad for providing assistance in event planning.
"In a booming metro like Hyderabad, there are more than 15,000 service providers such as venues, caterers, pundits, videographers, and performers - but the toughest task is searching and hiring right vendors. We provide platform to search and hire venues, photographers, decorators and caterers online, based on the budget and requirements of customers. We are also planning to raise Rs 2 crore to fund our expansion plans," Bavirisetty said, adding that the Indian events industry is estimated to be about Rs 2 lakh crore in size, growing at a rate of 25% every year.
"Our website has generated leads worth about 45lakhs and connected more than 40 vendors to their customers in last four months. We provide our vendors with an online dashboard to keep their profile updated on our website," YourEvent.co co-founder and chief technology officer Prasant Gopal said, adding that in less than a year of its inception, YourEvent.co has signed up with more than 350 vendors.
