VIJAYAWADA: Barbers of Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy temple Friday boycotted duties for two hours, demanding hike in commission due to which the devotees faced some inconvenience.
It was alleged that a new barber was appointed on the recommendation of a people’s representative from the old town. With this the barbers trooped out and raised slogans. The agitators under the leadership of Appalanaidu, said that they had been working there for a long time and the commission paid to them was far from sufficient.
They also alleged that more barbers were being appointed without raising commission.
