VIJAYAWADA: In a tragic incident, a senior official of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, T Ramgopal, died in a road accident at Kolanukonda village near Tadepalli Sunday. The mishap occurred early Sunday when the car in which Ramgopal was travelling rammed into a divider. He was coming from Guntur to Vijayawada.
While Ramgopal died on spot, the driver suffered injuries and is undergoing treatment. Ramgopal was serving as assistant commissioner in the VMC. Tadepalli police registered a case and investigation is on. VMC staff expressed grief at the death of the senior official.
